Composed of hand-cut fabric pieces appliquéd onto fine cotton cloth, this French mural depicts a tranquil woodland scene with deer, cranes, and a flowing stream beneath a rising sun. The work reflects the craftsmanship of early twentieth-century Parisian ateliers that specialized in decorative textile art for interiors.

At first glance, the composition resembles a painting, yet it is entirely textile. This technique was characteristic of the period when fabric was often used to recreate pictorial works for domestic spaces.

We have a pair of these murals, each depicting complementary scenes that can be displayed together or individually.
