Collector’s Note

Ruby Mosaic is a hand knotted wool rug woven in a vivid palette of fuchsia, green, blue, and gold. While the colors are boldly contemporary, the underlying design follows the classical Persian workshop tradition, with a symmetrical field of palmettes, rosettes, and branching vines framed by a floral border. The fine drawing and structured composition reflect the influence of historic urban weaving, reinterpreted here in a modern chromatic language.

Crafted using traditional techniques, the rug has a dense, even pile and crisp detailing that preserves the clarity of the motifs despite the saturated palette. The contrast between the classical pattern and contemporary color choices gives the piece a lively and expressive character.
